What does Homeowners insurance
cover?
Among other things, a basic policy will cover
such things as: fire, damage from windstorms, vandalism, theft (on or off
the property), damage caused by ice/sleet/snow, damage from leaking pipes,
damage from overflowing washers, grease fires, your home furnishings and
liability in the event someone is injured on your property. Other items are
also covered and riders or extended coverage is also available. Homeowner's
insurance DOES NOT COVER FLOODS - in a flood plain special flood insurance
is needed.
