Choosing The Home,Things To Consider
What kind of physical details should I look for
or ask about?
Lot size? Grounds maintenance required? Age of
home? Structural condition? Are any major repairs or improvements necessary?
Any extras such as intercom, fireplace, phone jacks, etc.? Built in appliances
- which ones? Adequate storage space? What is the quality of materials, present
condition, craftsmanship both interior and exterior? Insulation? What type
of heating and cooling system? Approximate annual cost? Are the major systems
such as plumbing, electrical, heating and cooling in good condition? Is the
roof in good condition? Is it public sewer or well and septic - if well and
septic, ask about condition and problems, if any?
